Marc Meulener, MD, PhD

Dr. Marc Meulener is a board-certified dermatologist born in Salamanca, Spain and raised in New Jersey. He went to the University of Richmond with a full scholarship finishing with a bachelor’s degree majoring in Biology and minoring in chemistry and computer science. Dr. Meulener received medical and graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania and earned both an MD and a PhD degree under the prestigious fully funded MSTP scholarship (Medical Scientist Training Program). Dr. Meulener completed his residency at Columbia Presbyterian and Saint Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospitals in Manhattan where he was voted chief resident by his peers. He then pursued advanced fellowship training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Dermatopathology. This additional training, along with a PhD in genetics, has allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of skin disease. Dr. Meulener has also travelled to several countries including Mexico, Brazil and others to receive the most advanced training in Botox and dermal filler treatments. He has been performing cosmetic treatments for over 15 years, and is also the founder of Choice Aesthetics Academy, a school for practitioners and physicians to learn the latest techniques in Botox and filler injections. Dr. Meulener is fluent in English, Spanish, and conversational in Portuguese.

Dr. Meulener is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and New Jersey Dermatologic Society. He has completed the following courses and training in the US and internationally:

“Transforming Faces” in Bello Horizonte, Brazil with Dr. Igor Alves, one of the greatest injectors in the world using cannulas.
“Facial Harmonization” a comprehensive course led by Dr. Mauricio Alves in Brasilia, Brazil.
“Russian Lips” with Dr. Valeria Serebryakova in the Dominican Republic
Numerous courses in the United States for Neurotoxins and Dermal Fillers

Dr. Meulener is the founder of Choice Aesthetics Academy – a course designed for providers that are looking to learn neurotoxin and dermal filler injections. The course has levels for beginners and advanced practitioners. It is offered 4-6 times per year and spans over two days. Students will leave with a certification. Dr. Adriana Marton

Dermatologist & Mohs Surgeon

Adriana Marton, MD is double board-certified in dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery, specializing in the treatment and prevention of skin cancer.

Dr. Marton received her undergraduate degree from Colgate University where she graduated cum laude. She subsequently attended medical school at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons where she was selected for induction into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Additionally, she received the Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Award for graduating in the top 10% of her class.

After medical school, she completed her internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, followed by dermatology residency at New York University. She then pursued advanced training with a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Marton is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and an Associate of the American College of Mohs Surgeons. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters and has presented her research at national conferences. In addition to Mohs surgery, Dr. Marton is skilled in performing various cosmetic procedures including Botox, filler, and laser treatments.

After living in New York City for the past 14 years, Dr. Marton is happy to return back to her home state of New Jersey. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Marton enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.

Sydne Miller, PA-C

Sydne is a nationally board-certified Physician Assistant with years of experience in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She graduated cum laude from Bucknell University with a degree in Biology and obtained her Master of Science from the UMDNJ/Rutgers Physician Assistant program. Sydne is affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has a meticulous and detail-oriented eye that aligns with her conservative approach to aesthetic and medical dermatology.

Crystal Appel, PA-C

Crystal is a nationally board-certified Physician Assistant with over 15 years of experience in medical dermatology. She graduated from Hofstra University in Physician Assistant Studies, has licenses in both NJ and NY, and has assisted in the training and education of DO and MD dermatology residents and newly graduated PAs. Crystal is a knowledgeable, compassionate, and passionate.

Lauren Riley, NP

Lauren is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with both a Bachelors and Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University. Lauren has over 10 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner and 7 years of experience in Dermatology. Lauren brings compassion and experience to all of her patients, helping them feel good inside and out.

Amanda Reynolds

Amanda grew up in Central New Jersey and has been with Choice Dermatology since 2015 after earning her Medical Assistant license from the American Institute of Medical Sciences and Education. Amanda was inspired to branch out into aesthetics in order to provide our patients with additional cosmetic services and pursued extensive education from Artistic Academy. Amanda has additional certification in anti-aging treatments, non-traumatic chemical peels, and acne treatments. She has experience treating all skin types and conditions.

Hailey Vasconcelos

Growing up in Central NJ, Hailey developed a love for the skin care industry as a child. In 2019, she entered Raritan Valley Community College to become an aesthetician. Hailey is driven and passionate when it comes to helping others achieve and maintain healthy skin. She fell in love with the aesthetics industry and continues her education whenever she can. As such, she’s certified in various treatment methods to provide everyone with the service they need, regardless of skin type or tone as well as conditions. Hailey loves meeting new clients and helping them achieve their best skin yet!

Amanda Day

Office Manager

Amanda has been with Choice Dermatology for over a decade as in integral member of the team. Her involvement with the practice has grown throughout her tenure, starting as a medical assistant, and currently as the Office Manager. Amanda runs all aspects of the practice, working hand-in-hand with Dr. Meulener.

Amanda’s received an associate’s degree in Business Administration from the County College of Morris, laying a solid foundation for her career in healthcare management. Her passion for the healthcare field, combined with her academic background, makes her role at Choice Dermatology ideal. Throughout her time at Choice Dermatology, she has consistently demonstrated commitment, growth, and a deep understanding of the intricacies of healthcare administration, making significant contributions to the efficiency and effectiveness of the office operations. Amanda seamlessly supports the talented dermatology team while prioritizing the needs of patients in every interaction.

Amy Garcia

Amy has been a medical assistant since 2020 and has been with Choice Dermatology since March of 2023. She has a background working in urgent care and as a customer service manager. Amy’s positive disposition keeps things running smoothly at Choice Dermatology’s Union office. With a love for organization and a passion for clear communication, she thrives on creating an efficient environment for both patients and staff. Whether it’s fine-tuning office operations, Amy is all about teamwork and making the patient experience as seamless as possible.

When she’s not keeping things in order at work, you can find her spending time with family and friends, getting creative with painting, exploring the outdoors on a hike, or lost in a good book. She’s also a big fan of live music and will never say no to a great concert!
